Who: Since 1976, Harris Utilities has been a trusted source for robust, feature-rich turnkey solutions that help utilities improve customer service and increase financial performance and operational efficiency. Today, Harris Utilities comprises seven distinct divisions and over 600 employees serving thousands of utility customers throughout North America and the Caribbean.
Solution: Harris Utilities wanted to stand out – in an industry not really known for its design flair, they wanted to take a chance and bring something new to the table. So in order to achieve this, Baytek applied Harris Utilities’ established branding to the look of the Website, and their systematic approach to creativity – and developed a site that is not only unique, but a visual treat at the same time. Using the latest Website development techniques, Baytek were able to create a full width site with stunning imagery and highly readable informational pages.

Who: A rich history, a comfortable setting, a prestigious club for more than 120 years, The Royal Ottawa Golf Club has been a distinguished and refined venue for avid golfers and community leaders.
Solution: The Royal is a fantastic golf club in a beautiful setting – and Baytek wanted to capture this feeling on the website. By using images as the focus of the site, and letting the content flow around it, the Website has now been transformed from a bland informational site to a visual story telling device. Of course, the standard navigation is there for those wanting to access location and opening hours, but for those who want to stay around for longer – they will get a feel for the club’s rich history and pristine fairways. Go ahead, take a tour!

Who: SEVITA is actively engaged at every step of specialty non-GMO soybean and Certified Seed production. This gives us valuable insight into the entire process from soybean research, to production, to the end-user, and provides you with a controlled and sustainable supply of quality products. Controlling all aspects of soybean development and supply enables Sevita to deliver high-quality soybeans and Certified Seed tailored to your requirements — with the advantages of quality, security, food safety and traceability.
Solution: As a company that is involved in every step of soybean production, SEVITA handles a complex process. Baytek was therefore invited to come up with a solution to display this. Working hand in hand with our client, Baytek developed the Circle of Life which is the pillar of the Website. Using Javascript techniques and no flash, the Circle of Life is a unique way to display how the soybeans go from the field to the consumer. Each step has its own landing page and unique attributes.

Who: Established in early 2010 by Steve Papousek, David Hiel, and Ryan Crompton, Green Roots Landscaping offers the discerning client with personalized, professional, and high end design. The company prides itself in its competitive edge and proven ability to create new visions and results that exceed expectations.
Solution: Baytek’s major focus on this project was to bring Green Roots’ sense of design and style to their website – that meant modern, dynamic and beautiful. The design of the site itself took on the life of a landscaped garden – from the initial plans and layout to the planting of the seeds (the images and content), it kept on growing until it was in full bloom. Now potential clients can view Green Roots’ work using the amazing gallery viewer, and see the potential for their own garden!

Who: The Canadian Fertilizer Institute (CFI) is an industry association that represents manufacturers, wholesale and retail distributors of nitrogen, phosphate and potash fertilizers.
Solution: As a multi-faceted organization, CFI has many programs and initiatives under its umbrella. One issue of that is to ensure all stakeholders are aware of each and every one of them. So Baytek came up with a unique solution to house each program in a modal pop-up – each has their own box, and a toggle to display more information in an expanding area beneath. Go on, give it a go!

Who: Eyemaxx is a high-end optical studio located in the heart of the Nation’s Capital. Their brands include Dolce & Gabbana, SALT, Oakley and Ray-Ban.
Solution: Baytek’s main focus on the project was to put the power of Eyemaxx’s website back into their hands. For a long time, Eyemaxx’s website was functioning on an antiquated system that included a number of hurdles to do even the smallest update. Coupled with an aging front-end, Eyemaxx were longing for a solid back end where they could harness the power and ease of use of a content management system (CMS), tie in their social media content, and have a fresh coat of paint on the site that would truly represent their presence as Ottawa’s best and most fashionable high-end optical studio. Baytek delivered on that premise, and then some. Eyemaxx are now proud to send customers to their new website, knowing that they can update their content exactly when they want and show off their studio and brands in the best possible way.

Who: The Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP) is an incorporated professional association formed in 1978 to represent providers of mental health services in the general areas of consulting, counselling, psychometric assessment/evaluation and psychotherapy.
Solution: Our mandate for the redesign of this Website was simple – bring OACCPP into 2012. The previous design was antiquated, and the functionality compromised. Baytek took a fresh look at the OACCPP brand and used a three colour approach to talk to the different audience’s of the Website, and using silhouette’s ensures the inclusion of every member. Streamlining the content into a straightforward information architecture means that the content is a lot easier to find and digest. Breaking out the member’s section into a secure login area helps to eliminate confusion about what area the user is in.

Who: Acaveo Inc. is the creator of the Smart Information Server, a next generation information governance software enabling enterprises to better manage and secure their active, unstructured information.
Solution: As a software company, Acaveo came to Baytek in search of a flexible brand – one that could be applied to many different scenarios. From online to print, from PowerPoint to Posters, the Acaveo brand was going to be used across the gamut of marketing collateral. The design is therefore modern, dynamic, reaches out to the target audiences, and uses simplified elements to conveys its message. The advantage of this type of design is that it looks professional, is simple to read and is easy to memorize. The website follows the same creed – modern and simple. Using the latest technologies, Baytek created a state of the art brochure Website to introduce the audience to Acaveo, and will be adding to the functionality of the site as the product develops.
Testimonial: “I am very pleased with the Baytek relationship and the professional manner in which they deliver. They consistently exceed expectations in response to our tough requirements. For our corporate brand and web presence, Baytek did a great job encapsulating our value proposition and messaging. We look forward to continuing the relationship.” Geoff Bourgeois, CTO

Who: VIS|EX Corporation is a Canadian company, founded and operated by Hugh MacDiarmid, that offers multi-faceted professional services.
Solution: As new branding for an existing firm, VIS|EX was a clean slate. Baytek was retained to develop not only a unique brand identity and brochure Website, but also something that spoke of Hugh’s experience in the sectors where he offered his services. Using bold and strong lines and form, a dynamic logo was created to embody the vision and confidence that VIS|EX possessed, and in turn, speak to his target audience. The Website was created to reflect all these aspects, as well as show VIS|EX in a professional light, but still friendly and approachable.
Testimonial: “I approached Baytek to assist with development of both a new corporate identity and a web site for my small professional services firm. We worked very closely in all aspects of the process, utilizing Baytek’s prescribed methodology.
